Desperate Crossing: The Untold Story of the Mayflower

I would like to introduce Lisa Q. Wolfinger, Producer and Director of "Desperate Crossing: The Untold Story of the Mayflower," The History Channel's(c) upcoming television production. This historical three-hour special concerns the Pilgrims and their troubled journey aboard the Mayflower that eventually brought them to America and the founding of the Plymouth Colony. The production will air on Sunday, November 19 at 8 p. m. ET/PT on The History Channel (c). The following is an interview I recently had with Ms. Wolfinger.
Kion: Ms. Wolfinger you have written, produced, directed and supervised the edit on a variety of television programs. As well, you have worked with a variety of television productions in numerous capacities. Do you have a favorite production, to date, besides "Desperate Crossing," that you have helped create? If so, why is that particular production your favorite and in what capacity were you a part of it?
Wolfinger and Fire on the Mountain
Wolfinger: I am very proud of a film I did a while back called "Fire on the Mountain" about the 1994 blow-up on Storm King Mountain in Colorado that killed 14 firefighters. I know the film meant a lot to the families and friends of the victims and I think I helped many of them heal. The Mayflower film is a very different film but I am equally proud if it.
The Desperate Crossing to the New World
Kion: In this current production, "Desperate Crossing: The Untold Story of the Mayflower," is there any one, or more, segment that is a favorite of yours, and if so, why?
Wolfinger: Yes, I think the film truly kicks into high gear once the Pilgrims leave the Old World on the Mayflower and take off for the New World. I love the scene where they are sick and dying and squashed into a hastily built one-room structure in Plimoth Plantation. I think it captures just how awful it must have been.
