Maude Adams rose from being an acclaimed child actress in the 1870’s to, as an adult, playing the role of Peter Pan, which was written just for her.


Actress Maude Adams, born in 1872, made her stage debut when only nine months old. She became the most celebrated child star in the Wild West. As an adult she was acclaimed in her roles as Juliet and Joan of Arc. Her shining glory came when Peter Pan was written just for her.
