By this comment, I'm certainly not endorsing everything Matther and his followers did. However, hundreds of millions of people today (dare I say "billions"?) from numerous faith groups believe in the supernatural, including demonic spirits. Just an observation to show that Cotton Matther's premise was not beyond mainstream religious thought THEN....or now.
