Most American history books at this time carry blatant errors and misconstrued facts, as well as they do not tell the whole story of blacks in America as to what happened before they became slaves in this nation, what happened afterward, or what is going on to this day. Black history, in American history books, is subjected to "get in where it fits in" with lies even American history has taught itself to trust in.
Blacks in America, once subjected to those lies that would be called "American history" would continue to not know what their true identity and history is. That cannot be.
No Whites, Hispanics, nor Indians in America were subjected on a grand scale to lifetime servitude, nor did they have their ancestors, en masse, roped like cattle on a ranch and brought to a nation they didn't ask to live in and for which they would never be grateful by any stretch of the imagination.
That is what makes black history stand out. You are welcome, of course-goes without saying, to read any history books you like on the indentured servitude of blacks, whites, Hispanics, the whole nine. But none will give you a complete or true story about black history in Africa or America, which is why black history "month" "day" "year" and anything else that sets aside black history is expedient.
Until the whole truth is told, there is no American history that tells the story of blacks forcefully imported from Africa. That is something that should never be forgotten, nor subjected to white history as if its story, like its people, was once subservient. Far from it.

Dear sspsllc,
I couldn't agree with you more on many of your points. But as far as true facts go, how about the true facts in the Indian/white situation? How about the true facts about placing Japanese Americans, and others, in camps during WWII? The list could go on here, but the point is, we are all Americans no matter our nationality or origin. American history, the true history, is for and about all of us. One is as important as another and should be about all of us to gain a true picture of American History.

Hi Pink,
I can't see that anyone is defending slavery in any form. It sounds like you are also saying that the Native Americans that were rounded up and made to live on often horrible reservations and were also murdered, such as at Sand Creek for one, did not suffer. Or that Chinese that were beaten and murdered in the gold fields did not suffer. Or that the young Chinese girls that were shipped to the gold field and sold into slavery, a property--plane and simple, as prostitutes did not suffer. Talk about an industry! And don't tell me some folks didn't make an industry out of pocketing the money intended to be used to feed the Indians on reservations.
