» pink101 - History of Transporation

You mention your involvement in Transportation History.
.
Interesting.
.
I've read and reread a book by James W. Carey, Communication As Culture--Essays on Media and Society, so often the binding has come loose. Not just on one copy; but, on two.
.
He compares communication with transporation and notes that the first mention of communication as a concept in history was with the ancient Egyptians as the pharaoh "communicated" his forces through out the land. And, he shows how the concept had to do with transporation in the earlier days of our society.
