Transportation History is very interesting, and you and Carey are right transportation is in some ways related to communication, not as much in the modern world, but before the second half of the 19th Century all communication had to either be between two people in the same place, or written and transported to the correspondent. I might touch on this when I get to Benjamin Frankin and Post Roads.
