I don't know if I have a favorite; but, the completion of the Erie Canal has a lot to do with how I was born. One of my ancestors trekked to the end to the canal as did many others to find their fortune. As a result, I am here. It's fun to trace our ancestry and to compare it to historical times.

A very interesting period indeed. Of course, I like them all. ![]()
But, I'd have to say that the most interesting for me is the founding era - before the United States became a strong nation. People today take too much for granted. It helps to revisit and study our origins.
