This era best helps us understand where we were and how we got to where we are now.

I don't know if I have a favorite; but, the completion of the Erie Canal has a lot to do with how I was born. One of my ancestors trekked to the end to the canal as did many others to find their fortune. As a result, I am here. It's fun to trace our ancestry and to compare it to historical times.
